-
I held the position of art editor in the financial services department of Incisive Media. Roles included designing layouts, editing and preparing text for publication using InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator in weekly and monthly magazines, brochures, supplements and sponsored corporate literature for clients.
-
I put together information graphics, which provided a visual narrative to complex financial features and news. As the department’s information graphic specialist, I helped production editors develop a distinct style for each brand’s data visualisation.
-
I created engaging images and graphics for magazine features, front covers and social media feeds. I am very competent at retouching and airbrushing problem images. I also digitally painted freehand illustrations of the columnists, which were unique to the brand.
-
I spearheaded the production and launch of the successful Investment Week iPad page-turning app and trained other production editors in the department to produce apps for their magazines. Upon the migration of the app to an automated version, I was responsible for uploading content to CMS for both the ‘live’ app and the website. I also edited the monthly podcast and various videos/animations for the Incisive Business Media websites.

I enjoy reading (I have a macabre fascination with true crime and the lives of serial killers), music and film (I sing in a rock choir and for many years I hosted a popular monthly film quiz at a friend’s bar). To keep fit I swim often – I love open-water swimming and have completed numerous marathon swims including the full length of Lake Windermere.
